Male Balding

There used to be a very negative stigma attached when it came to hair loss and male balding. This was especially true in regards to younger men who started balding at an early age. Luckily such stigmas no longer exist. Even men with a full head of hair sometimes opt to go bald. That doesn’t change the fact that hair loss is not an easy problem to deal with.

When dealing with male balding there are many options. A lot of younger people chose not to fight nature and shave it all off. Understandably so that is not an option for everyone. For those of you who are not fortunate enough to have a dome that will compliment a shaved head, there are still some things you can do about it.

The first option for one suffering from male balding would be to cut it short. A very simple short hair cut is the best recommended option for dealing with hair loss. Here’s a helpful hint: If you are able to see the scalp on top, make sure to cut the sides of your hair short enough to expose an equal amount of scalp. By doing this you will be able to minimize the appearance of balding and balance out your coverage.

Another helpful option is to mess it up using a light gel product. Then toss the hair around on the top area to help make the male balding less noticeable. Doing this will also add texture. In addition you can try using volumizing shampoos and conditioners. These products tend to swell the hair shaft and lift the cuticles, in turn adding thickness to the hair. It is very important to look for a shampoo or conditioner that specifies that it is weightless. Follow the instructions of the product very carefully. When dealing with hair loss it is important to avoid using products that will weigh the hair down. Another thing that can be used to add volume is a blow dryer. It can really work wonders.

Using a toupee or hair piece is another option that those suffering from male balding tend to go with. If this is the route you chose to go, just remember: You get what you pay for. Do not buy a cheap hair piece just to save a buck or to. It will be obvious to a lot of people and you will probably end up feeling more embarrassed then if you would’ve just stayed without it. People can spot a bad hair piece from a mile a way. Also when using a hair piece it is important to keep in mind that you should never suture it to the scalp. Doing so will open up a lot of room for infection.

There are many things that one can do to combat male balding. Hopefully these tips proved to be useful.
